I stayed in Metz my first weekend so that I could at least get to know the city and a few things about it. On Saturday there was a tour walking of tour of Metz that was provided by GTL. We rode the bus downtown and then started to walk around the "historic" part of town. I put "historic" in quotes because almost everything here is historic. Except for the part of town where GTL is located, everything is much older than myself. That's not saying much, but the catholic church you see in my photos is much older than anyone living today. It was the only building in Metz to survive the wars that have taken place very close to Metz.
As for the rest of the city, it is what the French students that live around me call ordinary. I don't think so because it is the first town I have spent time in while in France. So I would expect my pictures to get better as I travel into more interesting places with things and landscapes that just scream for me to show you. The pictures you see here are only some of those that I have taken. The rest will wait until I get back to The States.
